    "Select Inverse" Tool

    Hello,

From time to time I have wished for a  "Select Inverse" Tool.    There doesn't appear to be anything of the sort available in 2009+.  Primarily interested in this functionality for Sketch Mode.

    Thanks

    Steve

     Hello Steve,

I have filed this enhancement request to Development.  Any specific descriptions on behavior (in 3D mode as well as Sketch) would help us with the enhancement.

Say a user has 'x' number of objects and wishes to delete the quantity 'x-1'.   Much easier to select the 1 object, inverse the selection, and then hit delete.

    Thanks

    Re: "Select Inverse" Tool

     Hello Steve,

The current "Select Inverse" option is available on your Right-mouse button context menu, under Select > Inverse Selection.  In SpaceClaim 2009+ SP0 (the current release) this only works in 3D mode, and can be used to select faces, bodies, edges, etc.

The functionality will be added to Sketch Mode in the upcoming Service Pack 1, which should be released by the end of February.

    Best Regards,

    Re: "Select Inverse" Tool

    Hi James,

Following the use case I outlined above, I don't find the 'Select Inverse' process to be working at all.

    1. Create a new document
    2. Drop 3 spheres onto the drawing surface
    3. Switch to 3D mode
    4. Select one of the spheres
    5. Right Click > Select > Inverse Selection
    6. The previously selected sphere is deselected resulting in nothing being selected.

I would think the result of following the above steps would be 2 selected spheres.   Am I misunderstanding how this command works?

    Thanks.
